Richard Watts & his wife Linda
opened their first cycle shop in August '79 in Lowestoft –
Suffolk Cycle Centre.
Over the next few years 3 more shops were added, two Norfolk
Cycle Centres & a second Suffolk Cycle Centre. All the shops at
this stage were 5-Star Raleigh centres. With the changes in the
market, a change to multi-franchising was made in the autumn of
1998. The shops became Street Life Cycles – now situated at
Norwich, Lowestoft & Sudbury.
We hope to serve everyone from toddlers to the octogenarians and
beyond.
With the technology in the cycle trade developing so fast, we
have adapted to serve the specialist cyclist too. Alex Watts,
son of the founders now heads a team of knowledgeable staff,
more than happy to discuss the wide variety of options to meet
your needs and requirements, whether that maybe a new helmet or
a new bike.
We still supply Raleigh bicycles and “clung” on to the “British
Manufactured” status until even Raleigh themselves had to source
cycles from the far east. We now sell “Specialized” – our
specialist label as the name suggest. Claud Butler, Falcon and
Pashley are also in stock & other makes can be supplied to
order.
